Constable, Sub Inspector Vacancies in Punjab Police – 2023

The Punjab Police Recruitment 2023 Notification has been issued for vacancies of Constable and Sub Inspector. The recruitment is for the District Police Cadre and Cadres of District Police and Armed Police in Punjab. The online registration for the post of Police Constable will be open until 8th March 2023, while the last date for the Sub Inspector post is 28th February 2023.

Online applications are now open for Indian citizens who wish to apply for direct recruitment as constables in the District Police cadre of Punjab Police.

The selection process for filling up the vacancies in the District Police cadre shall include an Application Form (AF), Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Physical Screening Test (PST) with specified qualifying parameters. Please note that vacancies against the sports quota will be filled separately.

The selection of candidates will be based on their respective merit, determined strictly on the basis of marks obtained in Paper I, and normalization, against the available category-wise vacancies.

The last date to submit online applications for the constable post is 8th March 2023.

Age Limit

Eligibility criteria for the Punjab Police Recruitment 2023 for Constables are as follows:

  • Minimum age as on January 1st, 2023: 18 years
  • Maximum age as on January 1st, 2023: 28 years

However, the following relaxations in age criteria are applicable:

i. Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes candidates who are residents of Punjab are eligible for a relaxation of up to five years in the prescribed upper age limit. Therefore, the maximum age for such candidates shall be 33 years as on January 1st, 2023.

ii. Ex-servicemen who are residents of Punjab can deduct the period of their service in the Armed Forces of the Union from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to the vacancy by more than three years, they shall be deemed to satisfy the age limit criteria.

iii. Regular employees of Punjab Government or other State or Central Government are eligible for a relaxation of up to five years in the prescribed upper age limit. Therefore, the maximum age for such candidates shall be 33 years as on January 1st, 2023.

Educational Qualifications

Pay Scale

As per the Punjab Government Notification No. FD-FP-10MISC/87/2020-2FP1 dated 29.12.2020 pay scale of the post Constable is Rs.19,900/- and minimum pay admissible of Rs. 19,900/- per month for three years from the date of joining in service.

Recruitment for the post of Sub Inspector

The Punjab Police has announced the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in the two cadres of District Police and Armed Police. Interested Indian citizens can apply for the vacancies through the Recruitment Portal, which can be accessed at https://iur.ls/punjabpolicerecruitment2023. A link to the Recruitment Portal will also be made available on the official Punjab Police website at www.punjabpolice.gov.in.

The application process will begin on February 7th, 2023 at 7 pm and will close on February 28th, 2023 at 11.55 pm. Candidates are advised to complete their applications before the deadline as no applications will be entertained after the cut-off time.

A helpdesk number has been provided for candidates who face any issues during the application process. Additionally, a grievance window will also be available on the Recruitment Portal to help resolve any problems faced by candidates.

The selection process for the vacancies will be carried out through a Common Application Form (CAF) and Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST). Candidates will be required to indicate their choice of cadres in order of preference in the application form. The allocation of selected candidates to different cadres will be based on their merit, normalization, and the indicated cadre preference against available category-wise vacancies.

Candidates applying for only one cadre in the Common Application Form will be considered only for posts in that cadre and not for posts in the other cadre. It is important to note that the vacancies against the sports quota will be filled separately.

Same as Constable recruitment.
