A notification has been released by the Lok Sabha Secretariat for the position of Consultant Interpreter. Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in the vacancy can review the notification and submit their application. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has invited applications from eligible non-official Indian citizens and retired employees of various organizations, including but not limited to, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha Secretariats, Central/State Government bodies, State Legislature Secretariats, Autonomous bodies, Central/State Public Sector Undertakings, Supreme Court of India/High Courts, and local bodies, for empanelment as Consultant Interpreters for Regional Languages on a contractual basis.
About Loksabha
The Lok Sabha is the lower house of the Indian Parliament and represents the people of India. It has a total of 545 members who are elected by eligible citizens in their respective constituencies through a direct election process. Members of Parliament (MPs) serve a term of five years, after which a new election is held.

Age Limit
Only Indian citizens between the ages of 22 to 70 years are eligible to apply for the position of Consultant Interpreter. Age shall be reckoned as on the last date prescribed for receipt of application.
Qualification
The following are the eligibility criteria for the Consultant Interpreter vacancy:
(I) The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in any discipline along with any one of the following conditions:
i. The concerned regional language(s) must be recognized in the Constitution of India as a compulsory/elective subject at the Matriculation (Class X) or equivalent or higher level; OR
ii. The candidate should hold a Diploma in the regional language(s) concerned from a recognized university/institution; OR
iii. The candidate’s mother tongue should be the concerned regional language(s).
Desirable qualifications for this category include (1) experience in translation or interpretation work, and (2) a certificate in a computer course recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), or courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by NIELIT.
OR
(II) The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification with at least 05 (five) years of experience in translation or interpretation work in the concerned regional language.
Desirable qualifications for this category include a certificate in a computer course recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), or courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by NIELIT.
