5 Top Most Exams By Staff Selection Commission – SSC

In my last post, I emphasized on some very common 6 Sure Shot Tips for UPSC exams . Here in this piece, we will be talking about the top SSC exams. SSC or Staff Selection Commission is the organization that makes recruitment to non-technical group ‘C’ and group ‘B’ of non-gazetted posts in Ministries/ Departments of the Government of India, the C.A.G, and the offices of various ministries. Aspirants are crazy about SSC and every year lakhs of applications are filed in different examinations held by the organization. However, thousands of them selected for various posts after passing the screening tests.

The various exams held by SSC are:

Intelligence Bureau : SSC every year holds exams for the recruitment of Assistant Central IB Officer- Grade II in IB (Ministry of Home Affairs). The minimum eligibility of the exam is Graduation with the age limit being 18-27. There are in all 3 rounds where candidates are filtered and finally given the posts. The salary for post is revised and is currently Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs.4200 (PB-2) (Plus admissible Central Government allowances). The fee for Male candidates is Rs. 100. However, females are exempted from the fee.

Combined Graduate Level : SSC holds Combined Graduate Level Examination every year for recruitment to different posts. The minimum eligibility for the exam is Graduation with the age limit varying for different posts. The candidate is required to pass through 3 stages of screening to get his/her choice of post. The fee for Male candidates is Rs. 100. However, females are exempted from the fee. The salary is revised and is varying for different posts.

FCI Exam : SSC every year holds an exam for filling up of Category –III posts in Food Corporation of Indian in General, Accounts, Depot and Technical cadres. The posts are located are various location such as North, South, East and West. The minimum qualification for the exam is Graduation and age limit vary with different posts. The candidate passes through 3 stages to get his desired post. The salary for the posts is in Rs.9300-22940. The fee for Male candidates is Rs. 100. However, females are exempted from the fee.

CHSL : SSC every year holds an all India Open Examination for recruitment to the posts of Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk. The minimum eligibility for the post is +2 with age limit being 18-27. Candidates for LDCs and DEOs are required to pass a screening test of 3 stages. However, there is a typing test for candidates applying for LDCs. The fee for Male candidates is Rs. 100. However, females are exempted from the fee.

Junior Translators (CSOLS) /Junior Hindi Translators Exam :  Staff Selection Commission holds an All India Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the post of Junior Translators (CSOLS)(Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) every year. The minimum eligibility for the post is Master’s in Hindi/English. Candidates must not exceed 30 years of age. The pay scale for post is Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs.4200/.
